Mudd-Ox Inc Background
Building amphibious ATV’s has always been in our blood. As a child, Matt Oxender was introduced to amphibious ATV’s when he purchased an Amphicat from his neighbor. After repairing the Amphicat, Matt and friends from school would go on to purchase and repair countless other amphibious ATV’s to enjoy in their backyards. Soon enough, Matt had a large collection of vintage ATV’s from nearly every manufacturer and was spending every free weekend riding with other enthusiasts. Unfortunately, many of the ATV’s were plagued with design flaws that required constant repairs. These were both time consuming and demotivating.
After decades of repairing other manufacturer’s designs, Matt knew there was a better way. He and the very same childhood friends would go on to produce the Mudd-Ox. Prototyping began in 2005, and the first production model was sold in 2008. Those three years in between were spent vigorously testing and improving on the vehicle to provide the best possible product.
The End Result
Mudd-Ox is the finished product of years in amphibious ATV development. It is a vehicle made by enthusiasts whom regularly spend time in real-world applications, and continuously improve upon it. Nearly every component has been designed in-house, ranging from frames to the body molds. We strive to be on top of our competitor, Argo, in terms of pricing, capabilities, ease of maintenance, and absolute quality.
